Treatment procedure damage to the inner ligament of the knee
Treatment procedure damage to the inner ligament of the knee
Damage to the inner ligament of the knee can range from mild overstretching, to a complete tear. At GOOD MC, we treat the inner ligament if there is mild damage to a partial tear. Completely torn inner ligaments are often resolved surgically. With damage to the inner ligament of that knee, you often experience pain on the inside of the knee, swelling and instability.
GOED Medical Center offers various treatments for inner tube damage. Together with a specialist, the severity of the damage is determined and which treatment (or combination of treatments) best suits it.

1. Treatment plan for acute partial injury (partial rupture)
With a partial rupture, a brace is recommended for at least the first 6 weeks. Here it is important to rest the knee as much as possible. If necessary, this treatment can be supplemented with exercise therapy.
2. Treatment plan for acute overstretching (strain).
With acute overstretching, it is important to rest for at least a week. After that, exercise therapy can be started to reduce symptoms and repair the knee.
3. PRP treatment for persistent symptoms
If your symptoms have not subsided after 3 months, you are eligible for PRP treatment.
PRP
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a treatment in which we take plasma from the patient's own body and inject it into the knee with a high dose of platelets. PRP is a natural and effective way to inhibit inflammation in the knee and reduce pain and symptoms.
Monitoring after 6 weeks
After 6 weeks, the inner tube is checked and the treatment can be repeated if necessary.
Exercise Therapy
After the PRP treatment, the exercise therapy starts
4. USGET treatment for persistent symptoms
If you still have symptoms after 3 months and there is a lot of scar tissue formation, you are eligible for USGET treatment.
USGET treatment
USGET (Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy) is a treatment in which tissue generation in the knee is motivated with Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy.
Monitoring and PRP treatment
After a week, the knee will be checked and you will receive PRP treatment.
Monitoring after 6 weeks
After 6 weeks, you will have another checkup and start exercise therapy.
