Tenex treatment
Tenex is a treatment for chronic tendon problems. On this page, you can read more about this treatment, when you are eligible for it and what the possible treatment process entails.

What is a Tenex treatment?
Tenex stands for "Tenotomy with Percutaneous Needle Excision" and refers to a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic tendon problems.
The treatment takes place ultrasound-guided where a special needle is accurately inserted into the damaged tendon tissue. Controlled vibration is then used to break down and remove the damaged tissue. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and takes about 60 minutes. At the end of the Tenex procedure, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is left in and around the treated area.
When do you qualify for Tenex treatment?
Tenex treatment is used for chronic tendon disorders such as tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, sweater's knee (patella tendon) , achillodynia (Achilles tendon), and plantar fascitis (heel spur) . This treatment is used when traditional treatments do not work or work inadequately.

The rehabilitation process after Tenex treatment
After treatment, depending on the location of the condition, the advice is to use crutches or a sling for 1 week. We recommend this to allow the tendon to recover optimally.
Two weeks after treatment, a targeted exercise program is started with your own physical therapist.
An ultrasound evaluation will take place after 3 months....
