Knee osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis (also known as gonarthrosis) is a degenerative joint disorder in which the knee joint gradually deteriorates. Research shows that inflammatory processes in the joint play an important role in the development of osteoarthritis.

What symptoms do I experience with knee osteoarthritis?

This inflammation can lead to pain and eventual loss of joint function. Symptoms of knee osteoarthritis can range from mild discomfort to severe limitations in daily functioning.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for knee osteoarthritis?

PRP treatment

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is also known as ACP (Autologous Conditioned Plasma). This treatment leads to reduction of pain in knee osteoarthritis and improves the function of the joint.

Hyaluronic acid treatment

An effective treatment method for osteoarthritis in the knee is hyaluronic acid treatment. This may be advised when there is no fluid present in the knee.

Corticosteroid treatment in the joint

If we choose to perform corticosteroid treatment in the knee joint, we will review after 6 weeks to see if the treatment has achieved the desired results. This corticosteroid treatment is not repeated, as it may have adverse effects. Therefore, corticosteroid treatment is used only once. Have you already had this treatment elsewhere? Even then, this step is often skipped at GOED Medical Center.

KioMedine treatment

A recently developed treatment method is KioMedine treatment. This treatment reduces both pain and further symptoms of knee osteoarthritis such as stiffness.

Cryo treatment

The next step in the treatment process for osteoarthritis of the knee is Cryo treatment. The goal of this treatment is to reduce or eliminate pain.

Pulsed RF treatment

Pulsed RF stands for Pulsed Radiofrequency Denervation. A Pulsed RF treatment at GOED Medical Center for knee osteoarthritis is a pain-fighting treatment that treats the nerve without damaging it.

Phenol treatment

We then treat knee osteoarthritis with phenol treatment. In the treatment of osteoarthritis, phenol can be applied locally to deactivate specific nerves that transmit pain signals.

Sweaters Knee

One of the common knee problems is Jumpers Knee, also known as sweater's knee or Patellar tendinopathy. In this, the tendon that connects the kneecap to the lower leg becomes inflamed due to repetitive strain. This is a common knee condition.

What symptoms do I experience with Jumpers Knee?

The main complaint with Jumpers Knee is pain and swelling in the front of the knee, on the underside of the kneecap. This pain often gets worse with activities such as climbing stairs, squatting, sitting for long periods of time with bent knees, and running. After rest or activity, the knee is often stiff.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for a sweaters knee?

USGET treatment

Are you suffering from knee pain related to a Jumpers Knee? If so, a USGET treatment is a good option. A USGET (Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy) treatment is a treatment in which tissue generation in the knee is motivated with Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy.

Damage to the inner ligament of the knee

Damage to the inner ligament of the knee is a common condition. It is common in contact sports such as soccer and rugby, but can also be caused by unfortunate twisting movements or falls. The severity of the condition can range from a mild overstretching, to a complete tear. At GOED Medical Center, we treat the inner tube when there is from mild damage to a partial tear. Completely torn inner tubes are often fixed surgically elsewhere.

What knee symptoms do I experience with inner tube damage?

Common symptoms associated with damage to the inner ligament of the knee include pain and tenderness along the inside of the knee, swelling and a feeling of instability when making lateral movements. Treating knee problems related to damage to the is a common treatment at GOED Medical Center.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for knee inner ligament damage?

USGET treatment

An effective treatment for knee inner ligament disease is Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy (USGET) treatment, which motivates tissue generation in the knee with Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy.

Patellofemoral pain syndrome

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (also known as PFPS) is a condition caused by improper motion or alignment of the kneecap, which causes knee pain such as friction and irritation. Factors such as overuse, muscle weakness or changes in knee motion can contribute to the development of PFPS.

What symptoms do I experience with patellofemoral knee pain syndrome?

Common knee complaints with patellofemoral pain syndrome, are pain and stinging at the front of the knee, often around the kneecap. The pain can occur with strain such as walking, running, climbing stairs, cycling and often increases after exertion when sitting with knees bent.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for patellofemoral pain syndrome?

PRP treatment

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is also known as ACP (Autologous Conditioned Plasma). This treatment leads to reduction of pain symptoms in patellofemoral knee pain syndrome.

Degenerative meniscus extrusion

Degenerative meniscus extrusion refers to the abnormal displacement of the meniscus (cartilage-like disc in the knee) from its normal position due to degeneration. In this process, the meniscus protrudes from the front of the knee, which can be very painful. These symptoms often occur with wear and tear and age-related changes in the knee, where the cartilage becomes thinner (osteoarthritis).

What symptoms do I experience with degenerative meniscus extrusion?

Knee symptoms associated with a meniscus extrusion are knee pain, swelling and decreased functionality.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for degenerative meniscus extrusion?

Hyaluronic acid treatment

An effective treatment method for degenerative meniscus extrusion is hyaluronic acid treatment. This is often the first step in the treatment process for degenerative meniscus extrusion.

Bone marrow edema due to knee osteoarthritis

Bone marrow edema is diagnosed through MRI. This is a condition in which the bone marrow located in the interior of the bone swells. This often occurs in response to the presence of osteoarthritis in the knee or after significant trauma.

What symptoms do I experience with bone marrow edema in the knee?

Bone marrow edema leads to pain and inflammation in the knee and worsens the symptoms of osteoarthritis such as pain, stiffness and limitations in mobility and function. Inflammation in the inside of the bone puts a lot of pressure on the bone, which can be very painful. Sometimes PRP can be used to inhibit the inflammation by applying blood plasma into the joint. In other cases, bioplasty combined with PRP is needed.

What treatments does GOED Medical Center offer for bone marrow edema in the knee?

PRP treatment in the joint

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is also known as ACP (Autologous Conditioned Plasma). This treatment leads to reduction of pain caused by the bone marrow edema and improves joint function.
