USGET treatment
USGET treatment involves stimulating tissue generation through electrical impulses. On this page, you can read more about this treatment, when you are eligible for it and what the possible treatment process entails.
What is a USGET treatment?
At GOED Medical Center, we apply USGET (Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy) treatments, motivating tissue generation with Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy. In this treatment method, we use ultrasound to accurately determine the treatment site. This site is then stimulated with electrical impulses so that the body itself actively engages in tissue generation. This method is performed using an advanced device.
When are you eligible for USGET treatment?
You qualify for USGET treatment when a lot of scar tissue has formed in or around the tendon or muscle. This treatment is used only when regular conventional treatments have not achieved the desired results.
What does the treatment process involve?
Depending on the severity and duration of the complaint, the number of treatments is determined in advance. After 6 weeks there will be an evaluation. When we see improvement, targeted exercise therapy is started. In case of insufficient results we advise to switch to a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment.
The rehabilitation process
After USGET treatment, depending on the location of the condition, we recommend using crutches or a sling for 1 week. We recommend this to allow the tendon to recover optimally after the USGET treatment.
After 6 weeks, a check-up takes place. When the tendon has recovered sufficiently, a targeted exercise program will be started. You can follow this exercise program at our exercise clinic or with your own physical therapist.
