1. Hyaluronic acid treatment
First, it is determined if fluid is present in the knee. Is there no fluid present? Then you are eligible for hyaluronic acid treatment.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body and reduces inflammation in the joint. Adding extra hyaluronic acid in a joint with osteoarthritis restores thickness to the joint fluid, reducing pain and symptoms.
Repeat treatment after 6 months
Hyaluronic acid works quickly. After a few weeks, you will notice results. After 6 months, the treatment is repeated for the best results.
2. PRP treatment
Have you been diagnosed with fluid in the knee? If so, you are eligible for PRP treatment.
PRP
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a treatment in which we take plasma from the patient's own body and inject it into the knee with a high dose of platelets. PRP is a natural and effective way to inhibit inflammation in the knee and reduce pain and symptoms.
Monitoring after 6 weeks
Is there still fluid in the knee after the first PRP treatment? Then the PRP treatment is repeated.
Is there no more fluid present? Then the hyaluronic acid treatment is applied. Hyaluronic acid is the body's own substance that reduces pain.
Monitoring after 6 months
After 6 months, another check-up takes place. Here the previous treatment is repeated for the best results.
3. Corticosteroid treatment and PRP (and/or hyaluronic acid) treatment.
Is fluid detected in the knee? If so, you are eligible for corticosteroid treatment. Have you received this treatment before? If so, we often skip this treatment. You are then eligible for treatment procedure 2.
Corticosteroid treatment
Corticosteroids are hormones that inhibit inflammation in the body. This reduces pain and allows you to move the joint better again.
Monitoring after 6 weeks
Is there still fluid in the joint after 6 weeks? Then the PRP treatment is applied.
Is there no more fluid in the joint? Then the hyaluronic acid treatment is applied.
Monitoring after 6 months
After 6 months, the joint is checked again. Is there still fluid in the joint? Then the PRP treatment is repeated. Is there no more fluid in the knee? Then the hyaluronic acid treatment is applied or repeated.
4. Corticosteroids and KioMedine treatment.
Have you been diagnosed with fluid in the knee and have severe wear in multiple compartments, a BMI greater than 30 or are 65+? If so, you are eligible for treatment with corticosteroids and KioMedine.
Corticosteroid treatment
Corticosteroids are hormones that inhibit inflammation in the body. This reduces pain and allows you to move the joint better again.
Monitoring and Kiomedine treatment
After a week, your knee will be checked and the KioMedine treatment will take place. KioMedine is a natural substance that reduces joint pain, stiffness and aging.
Check-up after 6 months and repeat treatment
After 6 months, the joint is checked and the KioMedine treatment repeated.
5. Pulsed-RF, Cryo or Phenol treatment.
If the above procedures do not produce the desired results, you may be considered for Pulsed-RF, Cryo or Phenol treatment.
Pulsed-RF
Pulsed-RF stands for Pulsed Radiofrequency Denervation. Pulsed-RF treatment involves treating the nerve with pulses of electricity to reduce pain.

Cryo treatment
Cryo treatment involves freezing the pain conduit in a nerve, reducing pain.

Phenol treatment
Phenol treatment deactivates nerves that transmit pain signals, reducing pain
