De exacte oorzaak is vaak onduidelijk. Het kan ontstaan na een periode van immobilisatie, zoals na een operatie of een blessure. Paracetamol en ontstekingsremmers kunnen de ergste pijn verminderen. Daarna begint de behandeling gewoonlijk bij een fysiotherapeut. Merkt u na het traject bij de fysiotherapeut echter geen verbetering?
