Deze hormonen spelen een belangrijke rol bij de regeling van het bloedsuikergehalte en het remmen van ontstekingsreacties in het lichaam. Dit wordt daarom ingezet om ontstekingen in gewrichten te remmen.<\/p>\n<p>Het herhalen van een behandeling met corticosteroiden kan nadelige gevolgen hebben voor het langdurig herstel. Hierdoor wordt de behandeling vaak slechts eenmalig uitgevoerd bij GOED Medisch Centrum. Een natuurlijk alternatief is een behandeling met <a href=\"\/prp\">PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)<\/a>. Een variatie op deze behandeling is corticostero\u00efden IA. IA verwijst hierbij naar intra-articulaire toediening, wat betekent dat de corticostero\u00efden rechtstreeks in het gewricht worden ge\u00efnjecteerd.
